Cyborg and Gaudio Added to ‘KASAI Pro 7’ World Heavyweight Championship Tournament

KASAI kicks off 2020 with the biggest heavyweight tournament ever at The Bomb Factory in Dallas, Texas on February 1st

November 14th– New York City, NY – KASAI Elite Grappling Championships (“KASAI”) today announces two more entrants for the KASAI World Heavyweight Championship Tournament at ‘KASAI Pro 7’ on Saturday, February 1st at the Bomb Factory in Dallas, Texas. Renowned Jiu-Jitsu World Champion Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu and Patrick Gaudio are now confirmed. They will go to war in KASAI’s round robin format against KASAI World Light Heavyweight Champion Kaynan Duarte, Nick Rodriguez, Bruno Bastos, and Joao Gabriel Rocha. The show will also feature numerous compelling superfight matchups, which will be announced shortly. “This should be the biggest show in KASAI history” said KASAI CEO Rich Byrne. “With Gaudio and Cyborg in mix now, get ready for a night of battles”.

Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu is among the most legendary competitors in Jiu Jitsu. Receiving his black belt from Nova Geracao Team, he is the owner of his own very successful academy Fight Sports, based in Miami. Cyborg is a multiple time World Champion with gold medals at the following events: ADCC Absolute World Championship 2013, IBJJF World Masters Championship 2018, 4x IBJJF No-Gi World Championship, IBJJF Pan Championship 2008, IBJJF Grand Prix 2019.

Patrick Gaudio received his black belt in 2014 by his father Fabiano Gaudio. Representing GFTeam, Gaudio has cemented himself as one of the top names in Jiu Jitsu in the last couple years. He has gold medaled at the following recent events: IBJJF Pans Championship, CBJJ Brazilian Nationals, IBJJF South American Championship, IBJJF São Paulo International Open, IBJJF Rio International Winter Open, and the UAEJJF Grand Slam, Rio de Janeiro.
