Aaron ‘Tex’ Johnson vs. Ricardo ‘Demente’ Abreu confirmed for ‘KASAI Super Series’

‘Demente’ takes on ‘Tex’ February 2nd at The Bomb Factory in Dallas, TX

December 7th– New York City, NY – KASAI Elite Grappling Championships (KASAI) today confirms that Aaron ‘Tex’ Johnson and Ricardo ‘Demente’ Abreu will meet in a superfight at ‘KASAI Super Series’ on Saturday, February 2nd at The Bomb Factory in Dallas, TX.

Ricardo ‘Demente’ Abreu is a black belt from the Nova Uniao Association. Having the nickname meaning ‘madman’ in Portuguese has served him well, leading to many wins over top names in Jiu-Jitsu and ultimately a UFC contract. His main achievements include: silver medal at IBJJF World Championships (2010, 2009), European Champion (2010), Sao Paulo State Champion (weight & absolute 2009), South American Champion (CBJJE 2009).

Aaron Johnson, commonly known as “Tex” Johnson, is a black belt under Philip Smith and Murilo Santana, representing Unity Jiu-Jitsu Academy of New York City. An IBJJF 3x Pan American no-gi Champion, Johnson is known for his aggressiveness. Some of his accomplishments include: ADCC East Coast US Trials Champion (2018), IBJJF Pans No-Gi Champion (2016/2017/2018), and IBJJF New York Spring Open Champion (2017/2018).

In addition to ‘Demente’ vs ‘Tex’ Johnson, ‘KASAI Super Series’ will also showcase some of Jiu-Jitsu’s most decorated names in compelling feature fights including Gordon Ryan vs Joao Gabriel Rocha, and Tom Deblass vs. Bruno Bastos.
