John Calestine and Bruno Frazatto confirmed for ‘KASAI Pro 4’ World Featherweight Championship Tournament

Two additional star grapplers bring their talents to Manhattan Center’s Hammerstein Ballroom on November 10th.

September 26– New York City, NY – KASAI Elite Grappling Championships (KASAI) today confirms that John Calestine and Bruno Frazato will compete in its World Featherweight Championship Tournament at ‘KASAI Pro 4’ on Saturday, November 10 at Manhattan Center’s Hammerstein Ballroom.

“Having both Bruno and JC in the mix for this tournament will bring more fireworks to the brackets” said KASAI CEO Rich Byrne. “This shows exactly what KASAI is all about: we deliver the best grapplers in the world no matter what ruleset they normally compete under”.

Calestine is a Brooklyn-based black belt under Daisuke Yamaji at Renzo Gracie Fight Academy. He burst onto the international Jiu-Jitsu scene by winning EBI 15 on less than 24 hours’ notice in February. The heel-hook expert also secured major victories at the Onnit and Sapateiro Invitationals in 2017. He most recently bested Jiu-Jitsu ace Gianni Grippo at ‘KASAI Pro 3’.

Bruno Frazatto is considered to be one the best grapplers of his generation. Fighting under the famed Atos banner, he has secured some of the biggest titles in Jiu-Jitsu, including the Brazilian National Championships and the IBJJF Pan American Championships. He also has a few MMA wins under his belt. Bruno’s dynamic game promises to bring lots of action to this tournament.

In addition to Frazatto and Calestine, other names competing in KASAI’s eight-man no-gi tournament at 145lbs (65.77kg) include Gianni Grippo and Paulo Miyao. ‘KASAI Pro 4’ will also feature a dynamic superfight between two-time KASAI World Champion Renato Canuto and Edwin Najmi.
