Romulo Barral vs. Marcos Tinoco Confirmed for ‘KASAI Pro 5’
Two Jiu-Jitsu heavy hitters will compete at KASAI at the Manhattan Center on April 6th
February 15th– New York City, NY – KASAI Elite Grappling Championships (KASAI) today announces its first superfight for ‘KASAI Pro 5’ as Romulo Barral will face Marcos Tinoco on Saturday April 6th at the Manhattan Center’s Hammerstein Ballroom.
“Both of these guys are big names in the sport,” said KASAI President Rolles Gracie. “We can’t wait to have them on the KASAI stage.”
Romulo Barral is one of the top Jiu-Jitsu fighters the sport has ever seen. He was noted as “The number one BJJ fighter in the world” by Gracie Mag in 2007. He is a five-time IBJJF World Champion, IBJJF No-Gi World Champion, IBJJF Pan American Champion, Brazilian National Champion, and ADCC World Champion.
Marcos Tinoco is a black belt under the legendary Marcelo Garcia. Some of his accolades include: CBJJE Brazilian Champion, IBJJF European Open Champion, IBJJF Pan American No-Gi- Champion, and IBJJF World Champion at brown belt.
In addition to Barral vs. Tinoco, ‘KASAI Pro 5’ will also feature an eight-man World Championship Tournament at 205lbs to crown KASAI’s inaugural World Light Heavyweight Champion. Names already announced include Felipe Pena, Tim Spriggs, and Craig Jones.
